I've always found that mail merges work better if you blow away the Task
Pane and use only the Mail Merge Toolbar. With that method, I've never had
both documents open at the same time until I execute the merge, and the
interface is more intuitive.

Its not causing a problem as such but I was just wondering if its
possible to display only one document instead of two.
But I really appreciate for sharing your time and thoughts with me.

Eventually, yes. When you select "New Document" as your merge type, you
will
get both the merge setup document and the document that is the output of
the
merge.
Is it causing a problem?

Thank you both of you for taking time to read and reply;
So from your response I understand that its normal behavior and that
feature can't be disabled. I mean either from Taskpane or Toolbar we
have to face two documents eventually. Am I right ?

FWIW, I've seen other reports of this, but couldn't duplicate it.

Sounds normal to me, depending on how you're doing the merge.
But then you never said how you were doing the merge, so no one can
say.

Hi,
I am using Office 2003. When I do mail merge from Outlook, it opens
up
two MS WORD documents instead of one.
Any suggestions please ?
