Default About critical operations in Outllookexhress

I'm not sure what you are asking as there is no Template button in OE when
replying to a message. That said, it is a good habit to click File | Save,
or Ctrl+S, every paragraph, or so. Doing this will save a copy of everything
you have done so far in the Drafts folder.
