Cannot receive Email

I put a couple of first-que'd messages in a "test" folder. I get the same
error.
Made no difference.
What I would do in this case is to move everything out of the server-side
Inbox and see if Outlook can complete a send/receive. If not, I'd try a new
mail profile. You say you're using Outlook 2000. If it's in Internet Mail
Only mode, that's a problem because it's not easy to create a new mail
profile. You have to mess with the registry. I always found it easier to
convert to Corporate/Workgroup mode because then the Mail applet in Control
Panel would allow me to create a new profile without using regedit..
HelpAbout will tell you wich you're using.
I've been monitoring it. Normally I get 4-8 spam msgs per day. Since the
problem began, the spam folder shows nothing new. The most recent spam
date is Wed, 4/28/10. I figger something like 20-60 spam msgs failed
to make it to the spam folder.
I just mentioned it because POP doesn't ever check that folder and if you use
a mail client, there's little reason to ever log into the server via web.
Server-side spam folders can get very full.
