Default Unable to send test message when setting up email account

They are my provider for DSL, not broadband. Could that be the problem?

No, you don't have to be logged into their web site.

Is Verizon your broadband provider?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'll do my best.

I am only logged in to Verizon's network as far as I know.

Do I have to be logged on to Verizon's email page when I try to
send/receive
mail in outlook? If so, that's not worth it considering I can just check
my
email from their website.
