Actually, it was the clue. In Xcng2k7 the Address Book has a
ROOM area that shows all the Rooms for booking. Previously
it would have been called a Resource, but there was not a
unique ROOM view for booking.

Nope, you can create mailboxes for resources in older versions of
Exchange as well - in fact that would be the preferred way to create a
resource you can automatically schedule with Outlook and Exchange in
earlier versions like 2003.

Thanks for the help guys,
sorry i should have mentioned outlook / exchange 2007, but the clue as the
the version would be in the original post which stated meeting room
mailbox.
As far as I am aware this is only available in 2007 versions?

Ah, well he didn't say Exchange 2007 did he? In earlier versions the
link
I gave him from Slipstick would get him where he needed to be.

It is an Exchange Question, however it is Exchange 2007
(which is a new and different animal than those before)
A quick explanation of the Xcng2007 can be found at
the link below. It is now being billed as the "Calendar Concierge":
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/20...concierge.mspx
However, for Exchange Admins the use of PowerShell is
coming on strong.

This is really more of an Exchange question I suspect than an Outlook
one but either way, see if this article helps:

Hi, I'm trying to set up meeting room mailboxes for several in house
meeting
rooms.
What's slightly confusing me is after creating a room mailbox, how
you
take
things further so the room can be included in a medeting request as a
available resource.
So far the box has been created and when you add the room to the list
of
invites, there is nothing in the rooms calendar apart from the hashed
out
"unknown" is this a free / busy setting or do i need to configure
something
further in exchange?
TIA
