Hi Diane,
Thanks for the reply. Obviously we don't want to turn off our virus
checking, when it is a sporadic thing that only affects 1 or 2 users
occasionally

It is something we just have to live with (another Outlook
tantrum!) or is there something we could "tweak" in the virus checking
software?
It sounds like something that might be challenging to identify ... any ideas
on how we could proceed or should I just ask our users to keep copies of the
tracking emails to double-check? (Not ideal, but at least they have
something to refer to).
Kind regards
JD2

Hi Diane,
Yes, we use Sophos Anti-virus software to scan both internal and external
emails. Would this be affecting the tracking component of edited
appointments?
Cheers

TNEF is behind the winmail.dat files that non-outlook clients receive.
The
TNEF data contains the tracking response data. It's not unusual for it to
be
missing or corrupt when coming from the internet.
Does an antivirus application scan internet email?

Hi Diane,
Thanks for your quick response. The users are internal. It is
sporadic -
it only affects some and not others, and not all the time! What do you
mean
by "TNEF data"?

Are the responses coming from internal users or the internet? If the
TNEF
data is missing tracking will fail to update.

Dear Outlook Gurus,
One of our staff has reported issues with tracking meeting responses
in
Outlook 2003. Whenever she updates an appointment, not all of the
tracking
responses (ie. acceptances) are appearing on the tracking tab - even
though
she has seen them come into her Inbox, and she has definitely opened
the
email responses to ensure they are registering.
Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?
Kind regards
JD2
