No, it is a limitation of IMAP.

After furious head scratching, Nick asked:

| I have Outlook 2003 and use IMAP. I have multiple folders that
| receive new email in this account. The new mail goes into different
| folders before it gets to Outlook due to server side email filtering.

| I would like to do is be notified by Outlook when I receive new email
