Default How do I print my calendar with category colors?

Diane,
Thanks for the response. I don't think its the printer. When I use the
Printing Assistant, it doesn't even show up in color on my screen. Some
items are in color (the numbers for the months for example) but the calendar
items are all black.

In the past (with previous versions of Outlook) I have used a template in
Word called My Outlook Calendar.dot. It would bring in the chosen calendar
and create a printable calendar that fits everything (going to two pages if
necessary) and has everything color coordinated depending on categories.
This still works with Outlook 2007, but is kind of a tedious process.

For your information, I am choosing the "Standard Month with Weeks 02 -
Letter" template under the month templates.

Also, I have an HP Color Laserjet 2605dn.

Thanks,
Julie

BTW - I know it works correctly on an Oki but not on (at least some) HP's -
I don't know if HP support website has anything on it. When I need to print
on my HP 990c, it's always black and white, even if I print to a PDF first -
I think the inkjet can't handle the color shading (borders around all day
events are partial black dots). If I print to an Oki color laser it prints
as expected.

Are the categories in color in print preview? (if so, try printing to an
electronic format then printing that file)
What printer do you use?
Do you have the most recent printer drivers?
Is it set to color in print properties?

I am also using Outlook 2007 with the printing assistant and have the
same
question. I didn't see any place on the assistant to associate the
categories with colors (or to use the colors already chosen in
Categories.)
I hope Microsoft fixes this soon or someone else has a solution!

Thank you for responding. Outlook 2007. I just downloaded the printing
assistant yesterday but did not see any difference.

What version of Outlook are you using? Did you download and install
the Calendar Printing Assistant if Outlook 2007?

After furious head scratching, tracy asked:

| I like to have a hard copy of my calendar, a week per page so that
| the kids can see their schedule. Each child has their own color
| category and all their activities are highlighted in their color.
| When it prints, it prints in black and white. I know it is not my
| printer because their are other areas of color on the page, but not
| the activities or "appointments". Do you know why or how to get the
| "appointments" to print the appropriate color category? Thanks!
