apostrophe replaced by multiple symbols when email is printed
Diane,
Thanks for the reply. The printer is a Laserjet 2300dtn, but it's also
happening on another printer and seems to be only happening emails from this
user .
I'm quite sure now it has to do with a Japanese language pack. One of the
users that he sent emails to either sees the characters on his screen or
not, depending on how he responds to the prompt about installing the
language pack. So I know it's tied to that. What I haven't been able to
figure is how to remove the language pack. Is it the under Control
PanelRegional and LanguageAdvanced?
Thanks,
Doug

does the printer use its own fonts? symbols are replaced when the font
doesn't support Unicode.

Windows XP - Exchange 2003 - Outlook 2003
In some cases when a person in our office sends emails to others in our
office and those people then print the email, the apostrophes are
replaced by a string of characters like:
[]$B!G[](B
where [] is the nonprinting character symbol. Something very similar is
printed in place of an arrow symbol. He recently installed a Japanese
language pack. I've checked the Control Panel Language settings and
also the language settings in Outlook and couldn't see anything obviously
wrong. I've also deleted his user profile and reinstalled office, but no
joy.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Doug
