Default After security updates can't use either outlook express or IE7

1. Physically disconnect the machine from the internet.

2. Temporarily disable your anti-virus application and any real-time
protection provided by any anti-spyware applications (e.g., Spysweeper;
Spyware Doctor; AVG Anti-Spyware; S*PERAntiSpyware; don't worry about
Windows Defender, if installed).

3. Uninstall the following updates via Add/Remove Programs (make sure Show
Updates box is checked):

Security Update for Windows Internet Explorer 7 (KB939653)

Security Update for Windows XP SP2 (KB941202)

4. Reboot.

5. After making sure the real-time protections in #2 above are STILL
disabled and that your fireall is still ENABLED, open one (1) IE window, go
to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and install any critical updates
offered, then reboot.

DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE ONLINE UNTIL YOU'VE REBOOTED!

6. Make sure the real-time protections in #2 above are now enabled.

Here is something for everyone to think about. I was using my
computer just fine. Both outlook Express 6 and IE7 had no problems.

I saw that there were new security patches so I downloaded them and
rebooted the computer system. Now both Outlook and IE7 act as if they
can not get out to the internet. Now my Firefox and everything else
is working fine.

Outlook details:
Outlook Express 6 version:6.00.2900.2180

Error: The host XXXXX.com could not be found... socket error:11001,
Error number 0x800ccc0d

IE details:
Internet Explorer 7 Version: 1.0.5730.11IC

Error: Can't find web page.

YES, I did uninstall the patches and it had no impact.

So if anyone has any thoughts or if this happen to you please post.
