Outlook Express 6 freezes when opening emails with graphics.

I use outlook express version 6 as my email application. This is the
problem:
Every time I go to an incoming email with graphics in it, it opens but
outlook express freezes. I have to then use the ctrl + alt + del keys to
stop outlook express from running.
What do you think is causing this?
Any response to this post is deeply appreciated.
