ok, just figured it out. i had accidentally put "stationery" as "blank"
instead of as "none". that is what was causing the problem. just thought
i'd share in case anyone else ever has this problem.

Obviously when you created the sig you set the color to white or to the same as the background color. White on white or any color the same as the background will not show unless you highlight it or as you do run the cursor over it. Create a new (same) sig taking care that it is black in color not white or the same color as the background.
