Main Identity contacts
Thanks Steve. That did it! It's strange to import addresses from the same
file I was trying to import them into but it worked.
Now if you can guide me to a way to have it boot directly to MY identity
instead of one that I don't have a password for, I"ll be all fixed up.
Thanks again,
Tom

Try going to File | Import | Address Book and then point to the wab file.
Make sure its not read only.

In setting up a new system, I have copied the address book from my old
machine to the new default location on the new computer but the addresses
don't show up in OE. I have the TOM.WAB located in C:\Documents and
Settings\Tom\Application Data\Microsoft\Address folder but when I open OE
and check the Address book, it only shows addresses that been replied to
since I set up the new computer. These turn out to be address that are
listed in the Main Identity Contacts and I see no mention of Tom's
Contacts with almost 1000 names and groups. If I use the Explorer to
find the TOM.WAB file and open it manually, I see both the Main Identity
Contacts (few) and Tom's Contacts (many). I need to be able to access
Tom's Contacts in OE,.
I bought this laptop from Best Buy and it was a floor/demo model. They
supposedly removed all their demo softsware and set up my logon as Tom.
But, when it boots up, it comes up in a user (named Kiosk) that I can't
delete because they didn't provide me with the password. I always have
to log off that identity and log onto Tom. I think this is what is
causing the problem in Address Book. Unfortunately, I am in Asia and
can't get back to that store for a few more weeks.
Any help will be appreciated,
Tom
