Sorting in Contacts vs Address Book
Russ, I have been using Export/Import to move Outlook 2003 data from a
client's old computer to a new computer. I export the Outlook data to a .pst
file on the old machine, then import the .pst to the new machine across the
LAN. I didn't realize this is not the correct way to go about this, yet it
seems to work. What problems am I likely to see as a result of using this
method? Thanks.

Indeed, you likely will encounter other problems. Importing is never the
correct way to transfer Outlook data.
Your current problems is simply how to sort the Outlook Address Book. No
question has been answered more often in this group:
Go to Tools E-mail accounts View or change existing directories or
address books Outlook Address Book Change. Set your sort order there

I have a new copy of Outlook 2003 on a new PC and am experiencing
considerable difficulty. For one, and I'm sure there'll be more later, I
imported my Contacts from Outlook 2000 as a .pst file and it displays in
2003 correctly sorted by last name. When I use Address Book mode the names
are sorted first name first and I can find no Sort button to correct it.
Help! Anybody know what I'm talking about? Regards, Denzil.
