Default How do I prevent multiple inboxes from opening?

I suspected something like this was the problem. I only have one email
account (it is POP3). I think it had something to do with the archive .pst
file. Although I don't really understand what is meant by "Right-click on the
root node for each", I seem to have succeeded in preventing multiple inboxes
from opening by more or less following your instructions.

I use Outlook 2003, Windows XP. Whenever I open Outlook, multiple copies of
my inbox open. Can somebody please tell me how to preven this from
happening?

Do you have more than one e-mail account defined in Outlook? If so, are
they are POP3 accounts, or are some IMAP or HTTPmail accounts?

Maybe Outlook is opening multiple .pst files. Right-click on the root node
for each and close it (the one which is designated for delivery of inbound
mails will refuse to close because that one must be open to receive new
mails).
