Manually get download email

My email downloads automatically. How can stop this? When I am ready to
download, I want to manually click the send/receive button on my toolbar.
Is this possible?

Thanks

Double email

Does anyone know why I get two copies of the same email. When I download my
email, I always get two copies. Do I need to turn something off?
