Outlook security

I love sassy posts! Good on ya, mate.

But still, they are damned if they do, and damned if they don't right? In
this case, these are just defaults that savvy users can override.

I suspect many of...

How do I get E-mail address changes in contacts to take effect?

That's a separate cache of recently used addresses. When the old one
appears as you type, select the old address and delete it. After you have
used the new address, it will appear because it will...

How to Find the Message that contained The Attachment of a Known File-Name.

Exmerge can query for attachments by name. It was a common use for it when
the first .vbs viruses went around in 1999-2001.

How to Find the Message that contained The Attachment of a Known File-Name.

If attached to an Exchange server, I would, as an admin, use a utility

From the client, I'm not sure Outlook can do it on its own. Hopefully, I'm
wrong.

Some of the desktop search...

An easy way? Not really. I have seen Netscape 4.5 used as an intermediary.
Netscape 4.7 would work too.

Maybe this would help?

Netscape mail? So we are in Netscape 7.x?

If so, this can be done. It used to be in Netscape's knowledge base.
But darn it, since the new Netscape 8.x, which no longer has Netscape Mail,
the...

Excellent catch. One would think that the Earthlink helpdesk would have
went over these things with Jarvis.

Eliminating burdensome typing

It's 3 clicks.

When you hit reply, right click on the address, select Add to Contacts, and
then Save.

Not too burdensome.

corrupt .pst file?

Of course, that is what backups are for.

Microsoft does not support .pst files accessed over the network. It leads
to corruption.

PST file over 2GB and corrupted

There is no real way to determine what content will be cut. Take a backup,
run the pst2gb utility and assess the result in Outlook.
