As previously stated I had tried the first two option which did not work.
Thankfully the uninstall and reinstall of SP3 did work after stopping my
anti-virus program while updating.
Maybe there...

I am ahving exactly the same problem and have tried both repair options.
Could this have been caused by SP3 and how can it be resolved?
