I don't have a virus scanner turned on. And testing revealed that the

I have confirmed this issue on at least two machines. And it is easy to
reproduce.

Create a VBA macro with a simple Do-Loop that will tie up Excel.
Example:
Public Sub TestPerf
Do
'do nothing
...

All other programs respond fine. The CPU isn't really hit hard because the
bottleneck is the vpn connection to the database. I did (quick and dirty)
try an empty Do-Loop in Excel to see if the same...

Is it possible to exclude certain folders from Outlook 2007's Instant Search
Index? The only option appears to be what PST's to pick.... but not actually

Well, I'm not saying Office 2007 doesn't contain improvements. I like the
ribbon (a lot). And Outlook 2007 fixed every single anamoly with cached
exchange mode and disconnected-from-VPN situations....

OK. I think I realized it's not so much the color scheme as the fact that
TEXT all over the place (ribbon, status bar, even the title bar(!)) is a

It might "explain" it to you and me... technical people. It doesn't REALLY
explain why- aside from technical difficulties- Office 2007 installs with a
BLUE a theme on a WinXP set up to use XP...
