Deleted Items folder question

When I delete an incoming message from someone in my Address Book, that
deleted message does not go to the Deleted Items folder. It's just gone,
deleted. But....any other messages from an address...

"Some" .jpg files won't open. I only get that red x in a box.

It must be some security setting, but I've yet to figure it out. Any
suggestions?
