It looks like there was a bug and it was fixed by a June roll-up that I had
installed, so I didn't see your problem. Download the roll-up from
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970944 and see if that fixes your problem.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the post.

I was able to obtain the Hot Fix but unfortunately it did not resolve my
problem. I have a support case open and the rep, Brij, provided me with a
workaround that appears to be working.

By removing the category and then readding it the changes are saved.

Namespace.Categories.Remove(Name of Category)

Default Categories Not Saved


Hi Ken,

I am using C++ with MAPI to communicate with outlook.
Can you suggest me a way to retrieve/add/delete the categories from master
categories list.

I am able to retrieve category name for a contact but how to retrieve it's
color and shortcut keys. I am using outlook 2007
