Outlook form or Intranet form
 

I am looking for some advice on which system would be better.

We are a large organisation about 1200 staff. For new members of staff
managers are required to complete an .asp intranet form (which runs through 6
different web pages). This .asp form then emails (only fields that that
particular section requires - data protection) to 8 different sections of the
organisation into their Outlook 2000 inbox. Everyone submitting and
receiving the forms have Outlook 2000 installed and we use Exchange. All
Windows 95 machines have now been moved over to Citrix (which is thin
client), all other machines use either Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

I design the Intranet forms. The forms have a lot of fields, about 110
fields in total spread through the 6 web pages.

My question is. Would an Outlook form be a better solution to our current
Intranet forms?

Better by what measure? In other words, what do you see as the disadvantages of the current system and the functionality that Outlook might offer?

Do you have (or can you get) permission to publish to the Exchange server's Organizational Forms library? (If not, then forget Outlook).

Thanks Sue

Thinking about it Outlook isn't an option. I was thinking of Outlook
because the Intranet forms are having problems recognising the email address
of the sender (which is important as a copy of their data is emailed to the
person completing the form). But we really need a user freindly form that
other members of ICT staff can pick up if any problems arise or they need
amending, and there is no one else who has experience in Outlook forms.
