PST contacts' folder as main contact folder

Hi,

I would like to set a folder located in a PST file as my primary (and
default) Contact folder.

I defined an e-mail account and, by default, the Contact folder that is used
when I click on "New Contact" is the Contact folder located in the same PST
or OST where I have my default Inbox and Outbox. That folder is undeletable
and is the one used for ActiveSync Contact synchronization with Windows
Mobile.

How can I define another Contact folder as my primary/default (and possibly
undeletable) Contact folder?

You can't. Only the root Contacts Folder in your default PST file can be
your default Contacts Folder.
I assume you didn't really mean OST file. That makes no sense.

OST, on the contrary, makes perfectly sense. I currently have my default
Calendar and Contacts in an OST file created automatically by the Outlook
Live Connector. Of course is a sync copy of my Windows Live calendar and
contacts list.

Where did you explain in your initial post that you were using a Hotmail/Live
account in Outlook?

If you create a new PST and then create a Contacts folder in that PST, if you
open that PST before clicking New, the contact you create will by default get
saved to that folder. If you are in a non-contact folder and save a new
contact, it will go to your default Contacts folder unless you choose
FileMove to Folder instead of Save and Close.
