All Company Field information in Office 2003 Contacts GONE!!!

I was helping a college at work and somehow deleted all of his contact
company names. Can someone help me recover the info? I have no idea how I did
it.

Did you actually delete it from each contact or just remove the field from
the view?

What does this mean? Either you restored or you didn't. "Do or do not.
There is no try." What failed in the restore process? How did you attempt to
recover the data from the backup?

Modify one contact to restore the company name. Then display the Contacts in
the "By Company" view. Select the contacts with the missing company and drag
the selection to the group reporesenting the Company. The name will change
for all.
