Default Button Disappeared

We have 3 people who have contacts assigned to them. While in Business
Contacts One of the guys tried exchanging the File By/Company Columns and now
when we try to filter the contacts to be sorted to the assigned 3 people, it
will not sort into the 3 groups. It just has all of the contacts in the
company sorted from A-Z, instead of the assignments. Can someone help? The
(assigned to) the right person is still within each contact, the sorting it
is the problem.
