Default Crashed Hard Drive - Where are Outlook files? Where do they go?

My hard drive crashed on Friday. I managed to retrieve all the data from the
old drive and transfer it to a new, portable hard drive. I have re-installed
Office 2007, but can't figure out how to get all the data from the the drive
where it is backed up. In addition, I am migrating from XP to Vista. I am
only concerned with Calendar, Contacts, Notes and Tasks. I don't use Outlook
for email.

Can someone help me fast. I am in crisis mode as my computer is my life and
my business. I am dead in the water until I can get some of this info back.

Many thanks.

You are looking for a file called (probably) Outlook.pst. Certainly a file
with the extension .pst. Once you've found it, copy it to your HDD, (do NOT
overwrite any existing pst file, in fact it's better to put it in your
Documents folder), remove any Read-Only attribute, then in Outlook do
File-Open-Outlook Data File and navigate to where you put it. What you do
then is up to you - you can either copy the data to your existing pst file,
or set the old one as the default file. Depends on how mush data you have...
