When importing some records, many years ago, there were some bad characters
developed in the transfer. Some show up as 'boxes' where there should be periods. I put in the corrected data in the 'file as' field, but when I am exporting the data to use in mailing lists, these character reappear in the exported file. I would like to delete the bad data, but it will not allow this. Any suggestions. Office Professional 2003. Thanks, Liz |

Entering data into a derived filed won't help. Enter the data you want to
change into the fields that are used in the derived field. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Liz" wrote in message ... Okay, I think I understand what you mean...the "file as" is derived from a
primary entry, which I assume is the Full Name entry ?? And I was about to say I had corrected that and went to check. It shows correct on the form page, but when I click on the Full Name Box which has it broken down, guess what - there's the little culprit. I've removed it in the few cases we had it, and it's clean as a whistle. Thank you so much Russ. A Happy New Year to you, too. The Full Name field is also a derived field. For best results you would edit
the actual name and address element fields: First Name Last Name -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Liz" wrote in message ...
