Hi there,
We have upgraded a user from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 (the full Office package was upgraded - Professional Plus 2007). When we import the PAB the user had stored on the network, into a contacts folder in Outlook 2007, all the contacts seem to import, but the distribution lists they set up are all empty... Is this by design or is there a way to get them back??? They previously had over 100 entries in the distribution list they setup in the PAB... I've tried importing it into Outlook 2003 and it's still empty.. We're using exchange 2003 for mail... Any help or insight would be helpful!! Cheers! |

The DL should be importable but I haven't tried it in years. Is an older
system available that you could try it? http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/pabimport.htm -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. DLs and importing don't get along very well. Sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. Do you have no other Outlook 2003 machine you can use to add the PAB and then copy the contacts to a Contacts folder in a PST you can then transfer to the OL 2007 system? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Hi there,
Yes, I tried that. It imports into a Contact folder in Outlook 2003, but the DL's are empty in it as well... Any other ideas? I may try going to an older backup of the file to see if that helps? Ok, I'll try to add it (I'll look up how to do that, I've just been
importing), and report back if it works... Thanks Brian!! "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ... T. Smith wrote: Yes, I tried that. Brian, that did it!!! It also fixed another PAB problem I was having on
another machine by opening it this way!!! One PAB kept telling me it was corrupted, and the other imported, but not everything. By doing it this way I was able to get all contacts back from both PAB's... 2 birds with one stone... ;o) I was able to open the PAB in Outlook 2003, then transfer the contacts to my contact folder, move to a new Contact folder, then export the PST with that contact folder and give it to the user(s)... Thanks for your help!! "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ... T. Smith wrote: Yes, I tried that. It imports into a Contact folder in Outlook 2003, but the DL's are empty in it as well...
