I have a contacts file made in Outlook 2000. The file contains Japanese
text. There is no problem to input and see Japanese text in Outlook 2000. When I tried to export and import the contact file via .pst file, The text does not show up correctly. I also tried to export the contacts file in Excel or other format, but no avail. Does someone know how to solve this problem? |

It's Outlook 2007 6.0. But I do not this the problem is on the side of import. When I created the contacts file in Excel format in Outlook 2000, and open the file with Excel, the file does not show up correctly. So, my guess is the problem is on the export side. For some reason, when the contacts file is exported, Japanese text is not correctly exported. Thanks for your help. |

Why are you exporting and importing? Just open the original PST in the new Outlook (FileOpenOutlook Data File). Do you see the Japanese characters then? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

I opened the PST in the new Outlook, and still did not see the Japanese characters. When I opened the PST in the old Outlook, I did see the Japanese characters. |
