Default copy information into multiple fields in contacts

I am using Outlook 2003 w/SP3. I have created an Act. Mgr. field in my
contacts list and want to add a act mgr name to groups of contacts by state,
i.e. (050=Mary Smith). I cannot figure out a way to copy/paste i.e. 050=Mary
Smith into multiple contacts at once. Instead I have to copy and past each
one. Any suggestions out there? i'm looking at over 3,000 contacts to add
particular mgrs to.

Can you group by the custom field? (I don't think so, but try it to be
sure.) If you can, drag them to the mary smith group.
