how do I get dates (birthdays, etc...) to transfer to calendar
Sometimes the dates seem to transfer and sometimes they don't . Transferring
from contacts to calendar doesn't happen.

There is a product, namely Data Fields Manager for Outlook that has an
option of creating Calendar items out of any date in the Outlook Contact. It also has duplicate checking for those entries so that you don't create multiple entries out of the same date/contact.
