Default auto complete in contact number issue

I have users in Mexico complaining that when they enter a phone number
(818-xxx-xxxx) and save the contact, outlook automaticly add the country code
(52) to the input number.

When they synchronize their cell phone from outlook contact list, it
automaticly adds the following + 52 (area code) + phone number so when they
want to make a call it, a recording will reply it's a unrecognized number.

how do i change auto complete of country code in contact?

Outlook's formatting of phone numbers uses the international standard and is
hard-coded. It's possible that if they misconfigure their modem and dialing
properties in Windows that Outlook can be made to misformat the number.

I tried checked their modem and dialing properties, it's empty.
here is a quick example:

you type into the phone number field, and fill the bottom out.
coutnry/region-Mexico
city/area code-81
local number-XXXX-XXXX
extention
After u enter the number, it will come out +52 (81) XXXX-XXXX
anyways we can take out the +52?

okay, i found out this turn out to be a simpler thing than I thought. all we
had to do is delete the +52 before we save the contact.
thanks for replying.

if you don't press the button to bring up the phone dialog and just type it
into the number field, it will not add the country code.
