I can help with tjis but need to clarify a few things....
Do you mean you want to have less categories or smaller ones (which would each have more contacts in them)? Are any Contacts in more than 1 Category? Which version of Outlook? Is there more than 1 Contacts folder? use the Folder List view to check this (use the navigation pane on left side of screen to see Folder List). Regards Judy Gleeson MVP Outlook Trainer and Consultant There are various articles about using Outlook he www.judygleeson.com/articles.aspx Canberra, Australia "What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?" Not sure what you want to do. If you want to create new categories, you must do that manually. If you want to rename many categories e.g. by changing "customer x" to "cust x", the fastest approach is using Category Manager (see the link in my signature). If you just have contacts in one folder and want to change their category from "x" to "y", you can switch to the View by Categories, select all items of category "x", right click to "Categorize" and change the settings. (With Category Manager you can do that for multiple folders at once.) -- Best regards Michael Bauer - MVP Outlook Use Outlook Categories?
