Default What is the quickest way to add phone numbers

I do not have telephone numbers entered for most of my contacts. I am
considering the best way to update my currnt Contacts list for telephone
numbers, and when creating a new contact, find an easy way to enter the
telephone number.\

Advice appreciated.

Outlook does not provide any mechanism to "update" existing contacts via its
import process so only real option is to update these one at a time.

Easiest way to update existing contacts

Option 1 (this option would be my first choice unless there was some
pressing reason this wouldn't be practical)

Simply create a new "custom view" for your contact folder that lets you
explicitly identify each contact and include the phone number field in the
view. Then simply enter the phone number info for each contact via the view
instead of opening each contact individually.

Option 2

#1 - If you have these contacts in an external file (Excel/Access etc) and
you have fields in the file that allows for explicitly matching those
contacts with those in Outlook, you could update your external file and use
ContactGenie DataPorter to update all your contacts (# of contacts would
dictate whether this is reasonable or not). This can be done very
inexpensively via a 15/30/60 day CGD license
(http://www.contactgenie.com/cg20features.htm /

#2 - If you don't have the contacts in an external file - you could export
some primary fields from Outlook, update the external file and then use CGD
to re-import the data to only update the phone number field (as suggested in
item #2).

easy way to enter telephone number for new contacts

Not sure what you mean by "when creating a new contact, find an easy way to
enter the telephone number" - the fields are right there to fill in when
creating a new contact in any version of Outlook (which you didn't mention)
so little confused as to how much easier you want it to be.
