Im running WinXP with Outlook 2003. Is there any software available that
would allow me to see who's calling based on the entrys in my contacts list? My WM6 based cellphone (AT&T Tilt) shows the contact info, and would also show a picture if I wanted, but can I do this on WinXP? I'd answer the phone normally, but I'd like to see a pop-up identifying who's calling. I know of no way to download my contacts into my phone (or any other), so I have limited capability with just the phone. My computer has a voice modem. Thanks |

I don't know. It's a 'Conexant SmartHSFi V92 56K Speakerphone PCI Modem'.
Is there any place I could find out. Calling Dell would be useless - I've found their phone support to be run by a bunch of know-nothings. google for it... but be aware that if you got the basic modem they offer,
its unlikely to offer caller id. it’s a feature you'll find in more expensive ones. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "groversdad" wrote in message ... Ten seconds at Google produced this: http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...1/en/intro.htm The modem supports caller ID. However, your software must as well, and Outlook doesn't, as far as I know. I don't think Outlok knows anything at all about modems. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Diane & Brian,
Thanks for the help - I'm going to keep plugging away to see if I can find somebody's software that I can maybe periodically import my outlook address book into.
