Ignor post with Outlook 03 in subject line. I have Outlook 02 on both the
home and work computers.

I have a HP IPAQ Hx2495 handheld and configured to sync with Outlook at
work. I have over 300 contacts and am attemtping to have them grouped by the
Categories: HH/DME, Hosp, INS, NH, Pharm, Psych, etc.... At home I've been
able to apply these categories not at work. Both my home and work computer
share the same software specs as above. I've tried going thru the menu
VIEW/Current View/By Category - no luck. I've tried going thru 'Customize
Current View' making sure filter is off, and when this didn't work,
resetting all views in 'Define Views...' and attempt to 'Customize Current
View' again but still no luck. Finally, I've tried going thru the 'Advanced'
toolbar and click and dragging the 'Categories' heading into the 'Group By
Box' and still no luck. What should I try next? Again this issue is only
happening on my work computer which is connected to Novell network with
Outlook configured to retrieve email from a Groupwise server. Thanks in
advance for your assistance.

If you use the iPAQ to sync between work and home computer, see if the
categories are synchronized at all. It sounds like they are not, and that
would be an issue with your sync software.

My iPAQ synchronizes categories. I don't think that's the probelm.

Well, I did a little looksey thru the Groupwise documentation and found the
attached documentation below. So it looks like I'll have to wait until
Novell comes out with an update or prehaps some how sever the connection
between Groupwise and Outlook and use Outlook as a standalone app so I can
still sync between my home, work, and Ipaq. Whether or not I have access to
or can download email to my Ipaq isn't a real issue to me. Thanks for
assistance. Bennett

Grouping in Outlook with Outlook Connector does not work
This document (3585655) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of
this document.

environment
Novell GroupWise 7.0.2hp1a
Outlook Connector 7.0.2hp1a
Microsoft Outlook Professional 2002 sp3
Microsoft Windows XP Professional sp2

situation
When trying to group elements in the Inbox (by right-clicking a column
header and selecting "Group By This Field") it's not taking by the Outlook
connector. This works for POP3 accounts but not for accounts using the
GroupWise Connector.

resolution
This issue has been reported to engineering.

status
Reported to Engineering

additional notes
Steps to duplicate it:

1.- Open a GW mailbox using Outlook 2002 sp3 and Outlook Connector
7.0.2hp1a.
2.- In the Inbox, right-click on a column and select the "Group By This
Field" option.
3.- It won't work.
