Previously in Outlook 2003 I could use a print envelope feature within
Outlook for a particular contact (i.e. vendor). I don't find a similar function within Outlook 2007 to print just one envelope. I am not attempting to do a mail merge, just one envelope is needed. Under the communication tab, a "start letter" or "print envelope" function would be helpful. If anyone out there can help, I would be grateful. Thanks. -- CJ |

Neither version of Outlook has such a feature. That feature exists in Word
and still does. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "CJ" wrote in message ... Previously in Outlook 2003 I could use a print envelope feature within Outlook for a particular contact (i.e. vendor). My previous version of Outlook allowed me to create letter within Outlook.
This allowed me to print an envelope. The new version of Outlook does not allow me to create a letter. Yes, its true it would open in Word, but I didn't have to go into Word to make this feature happen -- CJ "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Neither version of Outlook has such a feature. Mercifully, the New Letter to Contact feature was put to rest after years of
frustrating its users. It was always a poor choice, especially for just creating an envelope. Use the feature in Word. You should have been all along. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "CJ" wrote in message ... My previous version of Outlook allowed me to create letter within Outlook. Russ,
What are your specific reasons or some examples behind declaring that this feature "frustrated its users?" Just declaring this to be so does not really inform or persuade. I always saw this as a navigational shortcut very convenient to the user. If it was buggy or unreliable does not make the design intent any less desirable. -THP Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote: Mercifully, the New Letter to Contact feature was put to rest after years of frustrating its users. I'm not declaring it to be so. The users who posted in this group did.
Common complaints we 1. There were too many dropdowns from which to choose 2. The letters still never appeared the way they wanted. 3. It was very difficult to customize the New Letter to Contact Template 4. Boilerplate Text could not be loaded into the Template. As a result, most users migrated to creating their letter in Word, then inserting Contact data from Outlook. Apparently Microsoft found it easier just to remove the feature rather than try to fix it. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "mrtimpeterson via OfficeKB.com" u8453@uwe wrote in message news:77c48af36661d@uwe... Within Outlook I could print letter and use the address to print envelope in
previous version. This feature is gone. The only options under Actions is email, phone -- no longer create letter...... -- CJ "CJ" wrote: Previously in Outlook 2003 I could use a print envelope feature within Outlook for a particular contact (i.e. vendor).
