Default Sync phone to outlook 2007 probs

Hi. I have had office 2007 for a couple of months and have been able to sync
my SE K750 with Contacts Calender Tasks and notes via the SE pc suite. This
has all worked really well.
Then I had an unrelated problem with windows and ended up having to reload
windows xp via the upgrade install. After that I ended up with severall
problems most of which I have now sorted but two remain with outlook.

The NOD32 add-in no longer loads which it did previously, this is not the
end of the world as emails are still been scanned.

My main problem is that when I want to sync my phone the Se pc suite only
offers to sync with outlook express and no longer picks up outlook contacts,
calender etc as used to before.

I have tried re loading both office pro and the SE pc suite but still it
won't work.

Any ideas? it used to all work great but not now, could it be a windows xp
probem? missing files etc

All other programs work fine just these two issues with outlook.

Thanks

Not an Outlook question. Sync issues never are. Contact support for your
synch software.

Actually, Russ, 85010014 is listed as an Outlook API problem. Using
ActiveSync on an XP-Home machine, I have been wrestling with it for over
a week now. Attempts to sync take a full 65 seconds before failing. This
has provided hours of entertainment.

Outlook can import from my previous PIM. It can accept a hand-keyed
entry. But it won't sync to my Dash (Mobile 6) PDA.

The sync software moves my Quicken data just fine. This indicates to me
that the sync software and the PDA / Mobile 6 combination works properly.

At present, I have slightly over 300 contacts needing synchronization
and the alliance of XP-Home SP2 / Outlook 2007 Trial / ActiveSync 4.5 /
Mobile 6 (all Microsoft products) is not making a good name for itself.

I did contact tech support for the sync software ... such as there is
.... by doing a Google search for the error number. I have followed all
the leads I can find.

Third tier support for T-Mobile concluded that the Outlook data file was
corrupt. I am not so certain of that because I have deleted / re-created
the data files a couple of times. Either the trial version of Outlook is
consistently creating corrupt data files or that is not the problem.

Anything is possible with trial versions because we have no idea what
modules function and which don't. Also, sync software developers never work
against trial versions. For supported versions of Outlook, synch function
are the responsibility of the synch software developers.

One thing your synch software might be trying to tell you is that it can no
longer detect a valid mail transport within your default Outlook profile
that has been set as the default for your operating system. A lot of sync
software requires that.
Ensure that you have a valid mail transport in Outlook that is set as the
default for your OS.

I 'm not sure how to check what you are suggesting. The other thing that I
have just remembered is that after reloading windows, I removed office 97
pro as I no longer needed it and could see no benifit in running both office
suites, could that have had an affect?

Did you uninstall Office Pro 976 before installing Outlook 2007? You
should. Also, you'll probably need to create a new mail profile with the
Mail applet in Control Panel. Finally, never scan incoming or outgoing mail
with an antivirus program.

At the time when everything was working well I had loaded office pro 2007 without removing office 97. After I had my probs with windows and reloaded windows xp via upgrade option several things did not work properly but these have now been resolved. It was after I reloaded windows that I removed office 97 and since then I have reloaded office 2007 and the pc suite but they still do connect. I have several email accounts that I imported from outlook express and I have tried setting up mail profiles through control panel although I don't think I need a profile, but still they do not connect. When removing outlook 97 it asked me if I wanted to remove microsoft exchange, i clicked yes as I have never used it and outlook 2007 has been loaded since 97 was removed so it was a fresh install.

Why should outlook express be available but not outlook 2007?

Outlook requires a configured mail profile in order to work.

When

exchange, i clicked yes as I have never used it and outlook 2007 has

Outlook Express and Office Outlook are two completely separate, unrelated
applications. WHy shouldn't one work when the other doesn't? You can use
them both on the saem machine, if you want.
