Field will not accept "+" in front of phone number
I use contacts for synching mobile phone and pda data. Since upgrading to
Outlook 2007 I notice that Contacts removes all the + in advance of the contact phone data. This is a pain as I store all my phone numbers in international format e.g +441234777123 and have to manually edit mobile or pda before using it. Any help appreciated |

Did you set Outlook's dialing options to automatically include the country
code? Dialing options are accessed from the "New call..." dialog. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Mike M" wrote in message ... I use contacts for synching mobile phone and pda data. Seems to have done the trick. I set my local area code and that allows the
phone number fields to retain the + character. Odd logic I have to say - how many people will dial directly from their PC Outlook screen? Mobile outlook on a PDA yes but rarely (if ever) a laptop or desktop. Mike "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Did you set Outlook's dialing options to automatically include the country code? The need to set the dialing location correctly has nothing to do with
dialing directly from the PC. Outlook simply needs to know your location so it will know how to format the phone numbers correctly. Also, things like the fax service require international format in order to process dialing rules. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Mike M" wrote in message ... Seems to have done the trick.
