My computer has just come back from the doctors with a new hard drive as my
other one refused to work - just stopped. Consequently I am now having to
re-install everything from scratch. Whilst not everything was got back the
outlook config was. So when I re-installed outlook 2003, I just placed the
old config instead of the new one. All good. HOWEVER, it seems to think there
are two "contacts" contact data fields. (If you know what I mean!) When I
coppied the config it copied the contacts accorss, however when I create a
mail it tried to load from a different contact list called "contacts" which
does not exist and sends me a compaint message telling me it can't find it. I
then have to click on the drop down arrow and select the other "contacts"
from the list which has all me addresses in.

Does anyone know how I can tell outlook what it is looking for does not
exist!? You can see it does not exist too because when you click contacts in
the nav pane, it just lists one contact data sheet with all my contacts in
called "contacts"

That does probably not make much sense but please help!!

I have managed to set it so when I create an e-mail it defualtly loads up
the contacts lits I wish it too (the 2nd "contacts" in the drop down list"
but it is very annoying!!

Very vague post.
If your "outlook config" was "got back," why did you reinstall Outlook and
how did you reconnect it to your data file? What do you mean by "I just
placed the old config instead of the new one?" Have you managed to read any
of the countless posts here that tell you how to reconfigure your Outlook
Address Book after you change your data file? I'd suggest starting there.
