Default Exporting Excel Contacts and mailing to Outlook, 2003 versions.

I'm having troubles exporting an excel file xls. into outlook for a large
contact section, I've tried everything i can but something seems to want to
work, the last thing i want to do is type every contact out onto outlooks
contact section as i have over 150 contacts complete with name, address,
phone number, etc. The one suggestion i noticed the most was re-naming the
cells to show how much of the data i want imported into outlook, I've tried
that and to no avail keep getting my excel file un-accessible to outlooks
contacts, thanks...

Your description is a little confusing so just to clarify:

#1 - You don't export from Excel to Outlook - you import an XLS file from
Outlook (using the import wizard) into your desired Outlook contact folder
#2 - If you're importing an Excel worksheet - you need to have a "named
range" for the data you want to export. Or a much more simpler approach if
you're not familiar with what a "named range" is - just save the worksheet
as a CSV file and import that file using Outlook's import wizard
#3 - No need to re-name any cells in either case - just make sure you "map"
the correct fields. In fact, a whole lot safer then using Outlook's
"automap" feature.

Since you haven't provided any other info - the above assumes the following:

#1 - Target contact folder is located in a PST file or in your Exchange
Mailbox (if using Exch)
#2 - You are not using any custom forms (to import any data to ANY
user-defined fields whether or not a custom form is being used)
#3 - Your question was not related to using your Excel file as your "contact
source" for everyday operations (you can't)

Karl

You can't export using Excel into Outlook. You must import from an Excel
spreadsheet (or a comma-separated values file) using Outlook. Exactly how
are you trying to perform the operation?
