Contacts are missing when I click the To, Cc, or Bcc buttons
I am setting up my new laptop and cannot get my contacts to show when
creating a new e-mail message in Outlook. I am using Vista Ultimate (64 bit) and MS Office 2007. I used the file transfer Wizard to move the files over (via USB cable), but gathered from other posts that this was not the best way. It is done, however. I tried to follow the procedures outlined in the Help File document with the above heading but on step #1 of Reset Outlook Address Book settings the “Remove” option is grayed out and I cannot proceed. What can I do to fix this? Jack |

If you go into the properties of the Contacts folder and then click the
Outlook Address Book tab, do you have the option of checking the box to enable that folder as an Outlook Address Book? -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "Jack Leslie" wrote: I am setting up my new laptop and cannot get my contacts to show when creating a new e-mail message in Outlook. No. The "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" option is grayed out.

If you're reusing a profile from another Outlook installation, it may have
been corrupted in the move (very common). If so, you need to create a new profile. That did it. I have managed to move everything from my old PST file to the
new except calendar items. Any way to "select all" and move them over? Thanks, Jack "Jocelyn Fiorello [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: If you're reusing a profile from another Outlook installation, it may have been corrupted in the move (very common). I just figured out how to move all of my calendar items - I had to change my
view to a list and then move it like anything else. Thanks for getting me onto the right track.
