I'm using Outlook 2002. My PST is on Drive D. My Programs are
installed on drive C. I installed and configured Outlook in June. It worked fine until this week. For the past few days, I have not been able to access my Contacts when I write a new email. The error message says that the Contacts Folder is not "Linked." But if I click on the Outlook Contacts icon, they appear. How can I relink the Contacts? ` Lady Dungeness Crabby, but Delicious! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Is your Outlook Address Book service installed correctly? If it does show, then remove it, close Outlook, re-add it, close and restart Outlook. See any one of Russ' answers for how to configure the Outlook Address Book Service for step by step directions.

I read Ross' page and fiddled around with the settings -- I put a
checkmark in a box and now my contacts are working from the TO line. I take that back. The contacts worked from the TO line until I closed
Outlook and reopened it. Now, again, I get the message that the Contacts folder is not linked to my email addresses. I'm about to tear my hair out! The contacts are stored in the PST file -- right? Then they should be in my OUTLOOK.PST file, which is on the D rive -- where it has beenfor months. In the C ocuments & Settings folder, I have some Outlook files underLocal Settings and some under Application Data. Other Outlook files are on the D: drive in the same folder as my OUTLOOK.PST. When I compose a new email, click TO - it opens to Contacts; there is nothing there. I can drop-down and select the next line, also called Contacts, and find a lot of Contacts that seem to be from June. They contain duplicates, which I weeded out in early July. Although I can SEE the names of those contacts, I am not allowed to select them. So it appears that I have two CONTACTS someplace; one empty, and another old. The "real" contacts seems to have gone missing entirely. Is there anyway to fix this fine mess? ` Lady Dungeness Crabby, but Delicious! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Sun, 29 Jul 2007 13:25:27 -0700, wrote: |I read Ross' page and fiddled around with the settings -- I put a |checkmark in a box and now my contacts are working from the TO line. |Thank you! | |` |Lady Dungeness |Crabby, but Delicious! |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | | | |On Sat, 28 Jul 2007 22:09:20 -0700, "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: | ||Is your Outlook Address Book service installed correctly?
