How do I lock contacts to prevent accidental editing or deleting?

Hello,

Does anyone know of a way to prevent accidental editing of contacts.

The interesting thing is that when you double click a contact, it is opened
for editing and there is an option to save changes. If you close the contact
without saving, the changes are discarded. This is good. The problem is
that the contact information can also be changed without openeing this
editing window. If the cursor is on a field, any keystrokes are recorded and
saved.

Any sugestions would be appreciated.

If you turn off in-cell editing in the view settings, you will be able to edit the contact only if you open it first.
