The new Nokia devices, N-series have an advanced contact organizer which
could be synced with Outlook contacts. But the problem is that in Outlook,
the contact fields such as Mobile and Business and Home telephone numbers are
limited to four being displayed. While on the Nokia device the labels Mobile,
Home ... etc can me edited and customied. When I sync the device I get
duplicate numbers with different field names and a total mess.

You'll need to make sure the field names match I guess. For a number of
reasons, the labels in outlook are not editable.
