Default Missing contacts category in pull down list

Despite the fact that I have a contacts folder in my Address Book I do not
see 'Contacts' when I click 'To' when sending a new email in the
'Show Names from the' drop-down box.

How can I add this group to the list?

Many thanks

Post your Outlook version.
Post what you mean by "I have a Contacts Folder in my Address Book."
First you say you do. Then you say you don't. The To: button launches your
Address Book, so it can't be both ways.
Post how you configured your Outlook Address Book.

Outlook version is: 11.6568.6868

Under shortcuts I have a Contacts which is populated as expected.
However when I wish to send an e-mail to a member of the contact list or
distribution list via To I cannot access the Contacts from the drop down menu.

many thanks

Russ, I followed the steps you lined us to.

What if you are unable to "mark your contacts with address book"? that
selection is grayed out on my outlook 2007. also, i'm not able to delete my
Outlook Address Book when I got to Account Settings, nor am I able to add it
again. I get an error message that says I cant' add the same address book
twice.

Correct. There is a problem with Outlook 2007 that prevents removing and
re-adding the Outlook Address Book service. INstead, you must start with a
new mail profile.

You'll need to create a new mail profile in order to repair the Outlook
Address Book.
