When I try to create a new distribution lists in Outlook 2003
contacts, i can successfully create the list. However when i right click on the list, and try to "send to" contact, it bring up a new mail message window correctly, however in the "to" field is only the NAME of the distribution list. The list is not underlined, and you can't click on it to see the recipients. It's like the list not importing to the mail message. Outlook just puts (in the "to" field) the text of the list title. |

There is no such option in the context menu. Clarify your post.

Ok, restating problem....
In Outlook 2003, I create a new distribution list. I can add emails to it. The list is entitled "test" with recipients inside the list. The list also appears among my contacts. I right click on "test," and select "new message to contact." The mail window appears. However, in the "To:" field it only says "test." Test is not underlined, and I cannot select it to view the recipients. It's like the mail message is not pulling the email recipients in the list, it is only pulling the title of the list. I'm using Microsoft Exchange Server as my email account. |

Does the list appear in your Outlook Address Book?

No, the only thing in the address book is the global addresses/users
on the exchange server. I have some drop down options in view like "public folders" and "all users," however the test list is not listed anywhere in the address book. |

So where did you create this DL? If you didn't create it in a folder that is
included in your Outlook Address Book Service, then you can't use it programmatically. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote in message oups.com... How do you specify where it's created? |

It is created in whatever Contact Folder you are in. If you are not in a
Contact Folder, it will be created in the folder you have listed to be checked first by the address book service. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote in message ups.com... I just said new-list How do you specify where it's created? |
