Default Unable to search for contacts

I use Outlook 2003 and have several subfolders of contacts. When I search
for a contact using "Look For" on the Find toolbar, I get the message "No
Items Found" even though the contact exists. I have tried a variety of
search methods to no avail. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I
can fix it? Thanks.

Too many possibilities for us to answer. What happens if you use Advanced
Find and target the correct folder?

When I first encountered this problem a few weeks ago, I would get the same
error message despite using a few different search perameters in Advanced
Find. After reading your post, I went back to refresh myself as to what
happened so I could properly advise you and, when I did a search through
Advanced Find, it worked. Searching by using the Look For on the tool bar
still will not work but I can live with that. Thanks for your time. If you
have any ideas as to why the tool bar search will not work, I would
appreciate hearing them. Thanks.

Still very difficult to speculate without more information as to the
specifics of the Search you created. Few of us use the simple "Find" option
because its search parameters are too poorly documented and change when you
switch from single folder to multiple folder searches.
Advanced Find is your friend. It's all I ever use.
