Default Contact are not being recognized in Outlook

I am using outlook 2003 and have been a happy user for a number of years. I
am not sure what has happened but when I am typing the email address in the
address field of a new email in outlook, it does not pull up the entries I
have in contacts. The database of my contacts is there on the task bar on the
left, but writing an email will not pull them up like it use to.
This may have happened when we had an expert come in and set up up on a
windows 2003 server and put our documents foldes on the server for backup
purposes.
I know it must be a quick fix.

Thanks,

Your "expert" appears to be unaware that putting Outlook's data files on a
network server is unwise.
