Outlook 2003 -Contacts/Names in Distribution Lists

I'm using Outlook 2003 Pro w/ windows XP. Every time I set up a new
distribution list I type in the name and email of each person in the list.
Then when I go back into it later, the names have reverted to email
addresses. In other words, I double click on the list and I see two columns,
one headed "names" and the other column "email", but both columns have the
same list of email addresses and no names. I have gone back in to edit the
list and change them back to list the names but they always revert to the
email addresses even after I save and close. This is making me crazy! Help.

Cannot reproduce the behavior.
Provide more precise steps, including format of the email address and
address type.
State whether the members you are adding already exist in your
autocompletion cache.
